One Day Sale: Camera Tracker 40% off

Posted by on Jan 24, 2012 in Blog | 8 comments

One of my favorite AE plug-ins is on sale for one day for $159.00 which is pretty sweet if you’ve ever seen the price of 3D Tracking software. Camera Tracker allows you to build a 3D camera from your live action footage, making it easy to integrate 3D layers and objects into a moving shot. Here is my first tutorial using the plug-in to add mountains and particles in 3D space.

This week I will also be using CameraTracker for a tutorial featuring an Airplane interior with a dynamic camera move. Once the camera data is created, it is much easier to add the airplane and exterior in real 3D space.

Camera Tracker is an After Effects plug-in but once you create the 3D camera, the data can also be exported to a 3D program and used to integrate full 3D animation as well. I’ll be demonstrating this workflow in the upcoming tutorial and it should be a lot of fun!

Check it out and don’t miss the sale. The Foundry doesn’t do them very often!

  8. I was thinking the same thing and had a good look at Blender’s new tracking features and tried it out for a couple of weeks. While there is great promise in the features, it’s not quite there yet in both tracking reliability and ease of use, so I’ll be buying Camera Tracker today.
